Namaste´, Blessed Be and Welcome! I'm Erica Settino (she/her), yoga teacher, spiritual activist, published writer, mindful mama, animal rescuer and caretaker, vegan witch, coach, counselor and lover of all things moon, crystals, herbs, sacred rituals, ceremony and divination--most specifically, tarot. My background is an eclectic mix of Western and Eastern psychology, philosophy and healing modalities. I hold a BA in Psychology: Human Growth and Development with a minor in Animal Behavior/Psych. As well as an MFA in Creative Non-Fiction Literature.
I am a published writer and have worked as a columnist, editor and editor-in-chief. I am currently working on both a fiction and non-fiction book project. I hold certifications in grief/trauma counseling and alcohol and addiction counseling. Along with my husband, I own and operate a private animal care and pet sitting business--for the past twenty years--on the north shore of Long Island. I have been teaching yoga for twenty years and continue to study, practice, and grow my knowledge of this sacred science that has enhanced my life, and the lives of my students, in so many ways.
I hold certifications in Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Mindfulness Meditation, Kids Yoga, and Mindfulness for Children, amongst others. I recently completed a Women's Circle Facilitator training with the magnificent, Sukhdev Jackson, through her Women's Shakti School. I have also completed certifications in Holistic Life Coaching, Stress Management, Ayurvedic Sciences, and Somatic Healing. I am also a Postpartum Doula. And I currently have the pleasure of furthering my study and practice of Kundalini Yoga with Guru Singh.
I have had the great honor and pleasure of studying with, and learning from, a glorious lineage of strong, intelligent, humble, fiercely devoted women, who have blazed the trail for us to follow. Including, Cyndi Lee, Founder of Om Yoga, with whom I hold advanced certification, Sukhdev Jackson, Suzanne Sterling, Jennifer Pastiloff, Alanna Kaivalaya, Kelly Kamm and Ashley Turner, among others. As well as my first teacher and supporter, Jackie Morrison of The Long Island Center for Yoga in Babylon, NY. And my very first teacher, my mother.
It has long been my goal to combine my eclectic background, as well as personal and professional experiences, in order to create offerings, teachings, ceremonies, and sacred spaces in which will serve the highest good of all living beings. I founded the yoga-based, non-profit organization, Karuna For Animals: Compassion In Action, Inc. in 2010, through which I organized numerous events and workshops of which I am most proud, humbled and excited to have brought to my community.
All of my offerings come from the same place within me: that which believes in the sacredness of all of life and the profound freedom and justice that comes from our realizing and revealing in the interconnectedness of absolutely everything in the universe. As above, so below. As within, so without.
I am so excited to meet you along the way.
