Upcoming 2021: Yoga Medicine/Moon Magick Training and Virtual Art Show and Auction in benefit of Karuna For Animals
Friends, We are being called to consider, and, where necessary, shift our behaviors and habits from those of not knowing or caring, to those of a higher caliber of awareness, which creates a momentous ripple effect for all living beings. So, then the question becomes, what are you doing to grow your awareness? How are you working, every single day, to expand your consciousness and honest assessment of how you are showing up in the world? Where might you need to push a little harder? Where can you back off a bit?
It may look different for each of us, but a daily practice, or sadhana, is how we are best able to access our inner most truths and capabilities. It is through our practice that we learn who and how we show up (as) in our lives. Consistency is key. Honesty is mandatory. Commitment and dedication to the greater collective is a must. Our personal liberation--which is what the path of yoga is all about--is intricately interwoven with the liberation of all. So we must, then, find ways in which we can strengthen our resolve in order to do the work that is necessary for each and every one of us to find freedom.
The Yoga Medicine/Moon Magick Training is for serious students and/or teachers who want to take their personal practice and offerings to the next level. This is a trauma-informed, nature-based, earth school training that draws from an eclectic mix of healing and wellness modalities. Explore Vinyasa, Kundalini, Yin and Yoga Nidra practices, as well as Magick Meditations and Rituals that align with certain phases of the moon. Learn about the profundity of the equinoxes and solstices, and how they impact our lives and practices. Gain an understanding of trauma and how it affects the mind/body/spirit, and explore practices for working with grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, etc. Further explore interconnection and intersectionality, and how to continue to show up as an ally for marginalized demographics and individuals. Explore veganism as a matter of justice, and learn the basics of living a healthy, vegan lifestyle. Integrate and align with the natural world and all of her cycles and seasons. Create your own daily, morning ritual as the touchstone to your integration, stabilization and evolution ... And so much more. Contact me with questions or for more information. Monthly sessions (on or around the New & Full Moons) will be held on Zoom, with some options for live, outdoor classes throughout the summer for those who are local. Plus recorded meditations, mantras and more. We start on Saturday, June 19th, the weekend of the Summer Solstice (Lithia), and go through the Autumn Equinox (Mabon) in September.

Upcoming Art Show & Auction in Benefit of Karuna For Animals: Compassion In Action, Inc.
The very first event we ever put together through our non-profit organization was an Art Show and Auction. It was a wonderful way to introduce ourselves to the community and work together with wonderfully talented and generous artists. This year all of the artwork is being donated by my mother, Adrienne DeSalvo. Who has created a marvelous collection of pieces inspired by her love of, and reverence for, nature, animals, Native American culture and traditions, mythology and much more.
Adrienne has generously offered to donate (I admit, I encouraged this as a true fan of her work) her inspiring and wonderfully creative artwork in the hopes of each piece bringing some joy into the lives of others. And in the hopes that any funds raised will benefit Karuna For Animals and our ongoing educational and rescue efforts.
We are extremely grateful to her, and cannot wait to announce the date/time of the upcoming virtual show. We know you will enjoy and appreciate her art as much as we do. Stay tuned.
Here's a little teaser of her original creations, each made with recycled buttons, jewelry and frames:
